We have a wonderful garden space right inside the front hedge. We have 4 raised beds, some tyres for planting and some flowers beds near the school gate.
Múinteoir Catherine took great care of the beds during the winter to make sure that they were prepared and ready for planting in the Spring.
The Junior Class potted lots of seeds indoors and helped to get the ready to plant outdoors. The Senior Room did lots of weeding and digging and set some seeds directly into the ground. Let’s see which works out better! We look forward to our harvest of potatoes, carrots, onions, radishes, lettuce, turnips and herbs.
We have 2 fruitful apple trees as well as a plum tree and some fruit bushes. Last September we picked some blackberries locally to make some apple and blackberry jam, as well as apple strudel.
